It's Been A While....

Please forgive me. Been busy with life and kids. You know how it goes! As well, I have had writers block. Everytime I have sat down to start a blog post, I wait....and nothing comes to mind to write. Soon, I will be celebrating J's first birthday. Hard to believe a year ago, I was as big as a house..Or aleast I felt that way...I will update soon with some project pictures.

This really hit home for me. Almost a year ago, I was on Facebook and 2 of my friends had that bible verse as their status. It hit me like a ton of bricks and the tear gates opened. My faith was there, but not in a place that I knew it should be. So, when I read this, I knew He was saying something to me! God even reaches you through Facebook! Pretty amaizng stuff! So, I wrote the verse down and put it on my fridge. Been there ever since! God will always be there, no matter what. Always protecting.

***Update. My friend/fellow blogger, Sarah has left the challenge and may join up once she settles after move. Her house is infested with mold. Not so great. Espeically with two young kids.

I am going to bump it up the challenge a little. Instead of once a week, I will post 2 topics a week. On Mondays and Wednesdays. So, come on back on Wednesday to see the next topic. Which is: "The Perfect Adventure"

After I spent the day cleaning, I thought I deserved to scrap the night away! So that it what I did. I completed this layout. Had the pleasure of hosting a birthday dinner for my dear friend Karen. Used the Silhouette for the cherries and scallop border die. The title is Dragonfly and Storybook from QuicKutz as well. The papers are from Basic Grey and Bazzill Cardstock.

Ordering pictures for my challenge and cleaning the house. I had hoped for a "relaxing" day. Soon I realized that my house was in desperate need to a good clean. Boxes waiting to be donated and laundry. Might as well whip out the mop and bucket too!! Full on clean.

New Home & Exciting Challenge

Loving my QuicKutz Silhouette. Love that I can go shopping @ midnight and use them right away.LMAO!! Wondering why I did not buy it sooner...Anyways, I bought this shape a couple weeks ago. Thought it would make the perfect housewarming card. So, I made a couple of them. Only I changed up the design slightly. I placed bling in the holes of the scalloped border. Chamged up the fonts too. I used Metro, Blossom, Rollerskate and Aquarius. Used some super cute pattern paper from American Crafts.

So, about a month ago, my hubby was ordering books on Amazon. I thought I would search for a particluar book. Just so happened to be a scrapbooking one. Would it be any other kind. (tehehe)
It was "50 Moments Scrapbook The Pages That Matter The Most" by Lisa Bearson. She is the Founding Editor of Creating Keepsakes. When the book came out, I thought it would be a great guide. Life took me for a wirlwind and I did not get a chance to read it or purchse it. Here, I am on maternity leave. Finding the time to scrapbook and wanting to create pages that matter!

I came up with a personal challenge. There are 50 topics and I am going to scrap each and every single one. Blog about each of them. Check back later this week and you see the first one " Talents and Gifts".

Hard to believe that time has gone by so fast! Brayden will be off to kindergarten this fall. Jaxson is six months now. Here is a few pictures from the most recently taken off the camera. Seems as if that camera should be glued to my right hand!!

There is a record breaking heat wave going across the Lower Mainland here in BC. It is so draining. My poor baby has some heat rash. Trying to keep him as cool as possible. once it cools down tonight I am going to scrapbook. We have been so busy preserving the produce from our garden. It has been a great lesson. A lost art, really.

For the first time I entered the local fair. Entered so scrapbooking and photography. Did pretty good. Six 1st place ribbons, five 2nd place and one 3rd place. ((insert blushing)) I also won "Best In Show" for my scrapbooking. This was the page that won:

A New Love

A bug was planted in my ear a couple years ago.
How wonderful the Silhouette was. I was quite content with
my Revolution. No, no, no I love it. Use it all the time. However, my
loving husband, bought me the Silhouette for Christmas (2008). Boy, DO I LOVE IT! It is the most amazing thing!

Feels like I have stirred up, woken up and revived a creative side that I have not seen before! The ideas are truly un-limited. They are over flowing. So many nights I look up at the clock and say "Is it really that time?" Yikers, better get to bed.

So, it getting hotter and hotter...but here I sit scrappin' fall layouts!! Hahahaha Don't get me wrong. I love BBQ's, water gun fights and Popsicles. There is something about fall, that I just love. The smell of leaves, pumpkin pie baking and trips to the pumpkin patch. So, here is a layout that I finished up today. It is also special, it was our last trip to the patch with just Brayden. This year we will have two boys to take! OH, now I can not wait for the fall!!

What an amazing country we live in. Diverse and free.
We will be celebrating in our complex today. It will be the 2nd annual Canada Day celebration. Thankfully I will be feeling ALOT better this year. Last year I was about 7 or 8 weeks pregnant. Horrible morning sickness. I think I made a cameo at the bash! The kids will have a blast. Feeling quite lucky today! To live in such a beautiful country!!

It is beyond me how 4 months have flown by! None the less they have. More milestones placed along the way. Jaxson is rolling over, both directions. Is very vocal with his older brother. Mostly, when he does not like what Brayden is doing! Started chewing on anything and everything. Sometimes, it is his thumb.

Been in a creative roll. It comes in waves. Get really productive for 4-5 days and then nothing for a few days. The ideas are there. I just do not sit and produce them. Got about 3 layout ideas, waiting to exit these hands!

I used my QuicKutz Silhouette to cut out all the die cuts. My favorite thing about it: border dies! There are so many to choose from. There is small, medium and large sizes. The fonts are endless. Your title can match you computer journalling. Another thing I love about it. Even for the shapes I may not use all the time, it is a savings. I bought some gardening tools, and at $1.99 each. It was a better deal to buy them for the Silhouette, then to buy the actual die. And I can make them any shape I want. Needless to say, I am in love with my Silhouette!!

over the course of about 6 weeks I have been a creative roll. this layout is my current fav!! took a die cut 12x12 paper and tacked it a tiny bit of adhesive to hold it in place. used paints: black, sage and a glaze. all the die cut shapes are cut out with the QuicKutz Silhouette. the title is cut out with various QuicKutz alphabet sets. distressed the squares with a black ink pad. it always helps when you have a cute subject to scrap...lol

Just back from taking my oldest to kindergarten orientation. I can not believe that 5 years have already literally flown by. My little guy is off the school in September. Brayden has been in pre-school this year. So, I know he is ready for the next level of education. Over the summer he will be attending a mini mega summer camp.

WOW...still amazed that he off to elementary this fall....

This past week has been a blast with the kids. Jaxson is growing like a weed. He is 15.5 pounds now and wearing 6 month clothes at three months old!! Brayden is almost done pre school! Time is going by so fast!

It seems as if I am getting more time to create! Jaxson is getting into a good bedtime routine. Thus allowing me to have my evenings to design! I will post some images in the next couple days!

Sometimes I wonder where I am in all that is "my life". Feeding the baby, chasing after a BUSY four year old, trying to remember where my husband put his cell phone, walking the dog and cleaning up after everyone. It is daunting to think that I have barely had time to drink a hot cup of coffee.

More importantly, I think of what I mean to the members in my family. That keeps me grounded and happy! I am a woman that loves to be creative...in whatever form I can find! My Life Creating Art......

Spring Cleaning

Seems as if I am ahead of the season. Wanting to go through everything. Huge purges are under way in this house. There is too much "stuff" in the house. In every area too! Like the kitchen, under the bathroom sink and my craft area.

So, I have started in the kitchen. Two weeks ago, I thought we did not have to do a big shop. There was no need to "stock" up on things. Things that I knew we were not going use in 2 weeks. We have almost made it the two weeks. Crazy. So, I am going through the cupboards and the freezer. Thus allowing us to have a smaller grocery bill!!

I feel like my craft area is way too big!! Can you believe it! Considering I do not use most of it or do not have a plan for the stuff I have! So, I will be doing a big purge there. I have ALOT of girly papers for someone that has 2 boys! Hmmm

Wish me luck as I purge this house!

Easter Mini Book

Been finding time to create! It comes in bunches, and I take advantage of it! I was actually craving Easter projects! This is only one of the pieces that I made. Made 5 cards and a layout. The layout is blank, awaiting this years pictures, title and journaling! All of the product in this acrylic mini book is from Making Memories! I fell in love with it and bought a nice pile last year...lol

Jaxson was born February 4th. He is such a good baby. His big brother is such a good helper!
I have already been back to my scrap space. Scrapbooked a layout about my boys.

New Year ~ Life Changes

Every year someone will ask you "What are your NY resolutions?" It is a pit fall in the end. Most people can not stick to the goal they have set. For me, it is something that I have to set into my life. Needs to be as easy as making that first cup of coffee. You could do it with your eyes closed. It takes practice to get there though!

When this baby comes, we will have change...and it will come fast! I can dream of a routine. Although, we know who will be running the show for a while :-)

After my body has recovered for the delivery, I am getting my body back. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes March of last year. Throughout this pregnancy I have been insulin dependent. My life change is to be insulin free, for life. Which means, eating right and exercise. Strict monitoring of my blood sugar levels.

Life changes...not New Years resolutions...

Wow! The last few weeks have blew past me! Keeping busy with baking, cleaning and creating.Not to mention spending quality time with Brayden! It has been nice to get a routine with him.

Another number I am shocked by....69 days till my due date! Yikes! Where has the time gone?

'Tis the Season

So, here we are. Another joyful season! Can not believe it came so fast! Last night I was putting up this year's Santa's photo. I came across the previous pictures. Could not believe the changes in Brayden. I was startled to see that I was missing a year!! I panicked. How could I not have a Santa picture? Figured out what year, 2006. Realized that was the year that Shayne had taken Brayden to see him. Which was a work function, that also had Santa visiting! Needless to say, last night I ordered a 5x7 of that picture, before going to bed :-)

Spent some time last night, re-doing my wreath. Using items that were already on it. With some new poinsettias, it cost me $2.50 to re-do the wreath!

Brayden loves his advent calendar. Made it last year for a class. It just happens to fit Purdy's chocolates! Used QuicKutz to make the numbers. The pockets are die cuts, using the Accucut die machine at Photo Express.

Well, it has been a month since I posted anything new! Yikes. Please forgive me. Life is taking me for quite a journey. I am 27 weeks along in my pregnancy. It has taken it's toll on me. Come the 30th, I will be off work. My body is saying it is time to slow down!

That leaves me some time before this little one arrives to BLOG! Please wait for new content to arrive...it will be fun to update this site. As it has been a while since I was a good blogger :)

A little festive fun....

Last Christmas I fell in love with the trees that were in Starbucks. I know alot of ladies that oohhed and ahhed over them. I was lucky enough to know a employee at one of the locations. Told her how much I loved them! When they took down the holiday decor, she brought me one to work! I had big plans for this tree!

Working in a scrapbooking store, I am surrounded by holiday spirit, starting in August! Last year there was this stunning release from Making Memories. I bought a bunch and did not use it! Again, there was a yummy release from MM. Bought more, but wait....I USED some!! Yes, I did. When I saw that the two line were made for each other, I was so excited!!

Pulled out my tree the other night. Carefully, took it apart. Counted all the pieces and measured. Once I cut all my pattern paper, it took just over an hour to assemble! All the pattern papers are made by Making Memories. With the exception of the odd piece of Bazzill Cardstock. The poinsettias are also from MM. The pearls are from Hero Arts.

I am in the holiday mood! Almost done making my Christmas cards...buying holiday decor...Falalalalala

Yes, there is a reason for this, and not it is not because I am Ms. Organized! Making an exception, as I am 7 weeks pregnant. I was having envisions of trying to craft with a 7 month belly. That is what I would be in December.....

I sketched out the designs and then create ten of each. Makes it alot easier. I had enough in my stash to create them! Even better. I will post pictures of all the designs once they are all done!!

It has been so nice for the past few weeks, that I have not posted....or created!! Not true all together. Taking pictures is part of my creating. Got some great shots of Brayden at the water park. Can not wait to create a layout of that!! Off to get ready for work. Have a great weekend!

{ first time trying out Digi Scrapbooking }

This was so much fun! I bought the Memory
Mixer program from Lasting Impressions. So easy to use! At first was unsure
how much I would like digital scrapbooking. Turns out that I really like it! Might even venture into hybrid scrapbooking!

For this double page layout, I used one of the pre made pages. Super simple, just click and drag your pictures. Add some embellishments and text. Voila! Done a beautiful double page spread. This is something I will do again!

Maybe some calendars for Christmas!!

Well, today is my Monday. Off to work today. When I come home, I plan on working on some cards. There is some baby paper calling my name!

Tonight was so much fun. Took Brayden to the playground, behind our house. He played for over a half an hour with a boy his age. And for the first time, ever, I let him be. I am usually there, right beside him. Not tonight, he was playing on his own. It was a proud moment. To see him, not needing me there. I know there will be lots moment like this. Pre-school is this fall, and that will make him more independent. My little man is growing up!

Just finished designing my mini book for my class. It is so yum-o......wish I could post a sample...needs to photographed @ work. Once there is a proper picture, price and time; I will post!!

Summer is Here!!

Oh I am so excited about summer! We have trip planned in August to go the Seattle Zoo. Maybe some day trips to various places in Vancouver. Would love to go to Whistler over night. One of our fav spots in BC!

The season changed, which means I got my FREE copy of Scrapbook and Cards!! This is by far one of the BEST magazines out there. Full of ideas and neat tips and tricks. The product that is featured in it is availible for us Canadians too!! The highlight for me is seeing tons of talented Canadian designers!

Working on some really cute mini books for a class. Going to finish that off tonight!

{ Time Flies }

It is not amazing how times flies by? I was just going through a series of folders and CD's looking for pictures. Felt like I was just at the pumpkin patch with Brayden, celebrating Christmas and being with friends that have moved away! As time doesn't change, I need to make sure I am writing down how I feel, in that moment. It will be much better to tell my story this way. Going to pack a little note pad in my purse. Just for this reason. I may even have stories that do no have pictures. And that is ok to!

Scrapbooking products also have a huge impact on telling your stories. For me, I get inspired by product. Makes it easier to tell my story. At Christmas, I bought Deja A Views holiday line. As well as Cosmo Crickets 8x8 paper pack. It inspired me to create. If I am not going to use it right away, I will simply get my pictures printed and store them in a Page Planner (Cropper Hopper). Then I know that I can go back at anytime and scrap that event.

with the last month behind me and a new foward...I am back @ my creative spot!!

a week before my 25th birthday I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. since then it has been hard to sit still long enough to scrapbook!! unless it was for work, I found other things to do...some good and some bad....funny how that happens!!

so tonight, I scrapbooked for me. a fun page about Brayden and I building a ginerbread train!!

Yup, I have to do some of that this "weekend". Since I work Thursday to Monday...today is my "Friday". Facing a house that is need of some TLC. Gonna start in my kitchen and tomorrow I will do the rest.

So, excited about Saturday night!! Having a Close to My Heart party...my #1 stamp company. Love everything about the product.
